Our Services

Individual Therapy

Our trauma informed and Neuroaffirming* therapists provide warmth, safety and connection to all they serve. Using evidence based treatments that are backed by science, we offer treatment that supports healing, growth and ease. We love working with people and helping them achieve their own stated goals. Our therapists are skilled working with children, adults and elders with a wide range of needs, including trauma and neurodevelopmental differences

*Neuroaffirming care is defined as support for Autistics and other neurodivergent people without trying to ‘fix’ their behavior, but instead provide connection and support for more ease in life.

Family Therapy

Families are the foundation of our society. Helping families strengthen their connection to one another improves outcomes for individual treatment and overall quality of life. In fact, brief strategic family therapy has been shown to decrease aggressive behavior, reduce marijuana use in adolescents, and improve family relationships and parent/child bonds.

In cases of children with destructive behavior, we can offer parent coaching to decrease family struggles and improve bonding.

Group Therapy

We all have a basic need to be seen, heard, understood and feel a sense of belonging. When we feel othered, sometimes we end up isolating even more.

Group therapy can help us return to, or experience for the first time, a sense of belonging that we all deserve. For this reason, groups can be more impactful than years of individual therapy!

Support for Parents of Neurospicey Kids:

Are you a parent/guardian struggling to understand and navigate the challenges of parenting your neurodivergent child? Are you overwhelmed by your child's “big feelings” and sensory needs? Do you want to bring more calm to your child and your whole family?

Join us for a Neurodivergent Affirming Parent Group with Katrina Tattenham, LCSW. Katrina brings decades of neurodivergent lived experience and works with individuals and families.

Psychoeducation for Tourette:

Tourette is a neurodevelopmental disorder often diagnosed in childhood, and while it's main symptom is uncontrollable movements and sounds, called tics, tics are just the tip of the iceberg.

This group seeks to provide support for parents who want to learn more about supporting the behavioral challenges and comorbid conditions associated with Tourette like OCD, ADHD and Autism. Special attention will be spent on rage episodes and effective treatment options.

Trauma Healing Intensives:

Have you ever done something and then immediately after wondered, “Why did I just do that?” Internal Family Systems, (IFS), is a method of therapy that aims to understand all the parts of a person’s personality in order to integrate ‘parts’ and help people feel more whole. In doing so, people understand themselves from new perspectives and feel significantly better fast. This deeply compassionate approach has been proven to be highly effective as a treatment for PTSD, substance use disorders, and pain management.

More Info About Our Intensives

Our intensives are two 3-4 hour long sessions over a weekend. These longer sessions allow for deeper understanding of one’s system and the goal is lasting healing. Using IFS and Brainspotting, intensives allow a person to go deeper than they could in a regular session and achieve greater progress than if they attended one hour weekly sessions for many months. Come spend the weekend in beautiful Santa Cruz, and heal.

Some Current Group Offerings!

Katrina helped me overcome some of the biggest hurdles I'd ever faced before. She was fun and approachable, and I always felt heard and valued as a whole person.

--S.W.

While working in therapy, I went from having panic attacks and flashbacks on the daily, to only having them weekly, to now, where they barely happen. When I do have memories of my trauma, I am able to cope.

--Brittany

I like playing with Katrina (in play therapy). She helped me so much.

--M.L. (aged 6)

After decades of therapy that never quite moved the needle, I found targeted treatment for OCD and it's made all the difference.
